My Story

A Life Poured Out
on the Streets of Denver

Sergio Angulo

I am a first-year missionary with Christ in the City, a Catholic missionary community committed to serving those experiencing homelessness in Denver. My work takes me into the streets, shelters, and forgotten corners of the city — not to offer solutions, but to offer presence.

"It's not about what I bring to them. It's about letting Christ be seen in me when I sit down and just listen."

Raised with a deep faith and a heart for justice, I answered the call to full-time missionary work after years of service in my home parish. I am funded entirely by the generosity of supporters like you.

Each day I walk the same streets, build the same relationships, and pray the same prayers — trusting that consistency and love will do what programs cannot.

The men and women I encounter are not projects. They are people with names, histories, and dignity. My role is simply to show up — to sit with someone on a park bench, to learn their name, to remind them that they are not invisible to God or to me.

This mission has changed me. I have learned more about faith, suffering, and joy from the people on these streets than I ever could have in a classroom. I am grateful every day for the chance to be here — and for the community of supporters who make it possible.
